Terms of Service

Important: Glintlog is self-hosted software. You are responsible for your infrastructure, data, and compliance. Please read these terms carefully.
1. About Glintlog
Glintlog is self-hosted log aggregation and observability software provided by Caio Ricciuti, operating as a self-employed professional (trabajador autónomo) registered in Spain.

2. License Grant
Upon purchase and payment, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
- Install and run Glintlog on your own infrastructure
- Use the features included in your license tier (Community, Pro, or Enterprise)
- Receive updates during your license period
You may NOT:
- Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the software
- Remove or modify license validation mechanisms
- Use the software to provide a competing service
- Share your license key with third parties
3. Self-Hosted Nature
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Providing and maintaining the infrastructure (servers, storage, network)
- Installing, configuring, and updating the software
- Security of your deployment (firewalls, access controls, encryption)
- Backup and disaster recovery of your data
- Compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Managing user access and permissions
We do not host, manage, or have access to your Glintlog instance or the data it processes.
4. Data Responsibility
All data processed by your Glintlog instance remains under your control and responsibility. This includes:
- Logs and traces ingested from your applications
- User accounts created in your instance
- Configuration and settings
- Any personal data contained in logs
You are the data controller for any personal data processed by your Glintlog instance. You must ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable data protection laws.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The software will be error-free or uninterrupted
- The software will meet your specific requirements
- Data processed by the software will be accurate or complete
- The software will be compatible with all systems or configurations
- Security vulnerabilities will not be discovered
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL GLINTLOG OR ITS OPERATOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of profits, revenue, or data
- Business interruption
- Cost of substitute services
- Security breaches or data loss
- System downtime or performance issues
Maximum Liability: Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the software shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license in the 12 months preceding the claim.
This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise).
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Glintlog and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the software
- Data you collect or process using the software
- Your violation of these terms
- Your violation of any applicable laws
- Claims by third parties related to your deployment
8. License Tiers and Payment
Community (Free): Basic features, no payment required.
Pro (€499/year): Advanced features including alerting, dashboards, and extended retention. Requires annual payment.
Enterprise (€1,499/year): All features including SSO, RBAC, and priority support. Requires annual payment.
Prices are in Euros and exclude applicable taxes. Licenses are valid for one year from the date of purchase.
9. Refund Policy
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for Pro and Enterprise licenses. To request a refund:
- Contact us within 30 days of purchase
- Provide your order details
- Deactivate and uninstall the software
After 30 days, license fees are non-refundable. Partial refunds for remaining license periods are not available.
10. License Expiration
When your paid license expires:
- Your Glintlog instance continues to function
- Your data remains intact and accessible
- Pro/Enterprise features become unavailable
- Your instance reverts to Community functionality
We will send renewal reminders 30 days before expiration.
11. Support
Support varies by license tier:
- Community: GitHub issues and community forums
- Pro: Email support (response within 48 hours)
- Enterprise: Priority email support (response within 24 hours)
Support does not include: infrastructure management, custom development, on-site assistance, or 24/7 availability.
12. Open Source Components
Glintlog Community Edition is open source under the GPL-3.0 license. The source code is available at github.com/ibero-data/glintlog. Pro and Enterprise features are proprietary additions to the open source core.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page. For material changes affecting paid licenses, we will notify you via email 30 days in advance. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
14. Termination
We may terminate your license if you:
- Violate these terms
- Share or redistribute your license key
- Attempt to circumvent license restrictions
- Use the software for illegal purposes
Upon termination, you must stop using the software and delete all copies. No refunds are provided for termination due to violation.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Valencia, Spain. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of these courts.
16. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
17. Entire Agreement
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Glintlog. They supersede any prior agreements or communications regarding the software.
